The Preservation Eastern collection documents the inner workings of the student organization. Preservation Eastern is associated with the graduate Historic Preservation program at Eastern Michigan University. The group provides valuable experiences for students before entering the preservation field. The collection is arranged alphabetically and is divided into two series. The two series in the collection are: Administration and History, and Publicity and Outreach. Records date from 1980 to 2006.

Administrative History

Preservation Eastern is student organized formed by graduate students in the Historic Preservation Program at Eastern Michigan University. The mission of Preservation Eastern is to advocate and promote the preservation and understanding of Michigan's historic and cultural resources. The group provides opportunities for members to gain contacts and valuable practical experience in many different areas of historic preservation.
