Administrative History

The Pedagogical Society, also known as the Normal Education Society or the Normal School Pedagogical Club, was established in April 1885 and remained in existence until the turn of the 20th century. Composed of faculty members, its purpose was the consideration and discussion of subjects of professional interest to teachers, including educational theories and methods and the history of education. Meetings were held monthly during the school year. Many of the papers presented before the society were subsequently published.
