The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity collection houses the materials of the Theta Gamma Chapter of the Fraternity at Eastern Michigan University. It contains Black Facts Tuesday Flyers, constitution and membership program literature, correspondence, Grand Conclave and regional conference information, flyers, programs, and event invitations, historical information, photographs, The Oracle, and miscellaneous papers of the Fraternity. The Theta Gamma chapter of Omega Psi Phi was founded at Eastern Michigan University in 1952. The Theta Gamma chapter hosted dances and monthly forums, discussing social problems in the early years of its existence at the University. The Theta Gamma chapter is still active on campus.

Historical Note

Omega Psi Phi Fraternity was founded at Howard University on November 17, 1911 upon the principles of scholarship, manhood, perseverance, and uplift. A historically black fraternity, it was nationally incorporated on October 28, 1914 by its founding members Love, Cooper, and Coleman. The Theta Gamma chapter of Omega Psi Phi was founded at Eastern Michigan University in 1952. The Theta Gamma chapter hosted dances and monthly forums, discussing social problems in the early years of its existence at the University. The Theta Gamma chapter is still active on campus.
