Administrative History

The League of Women Voters is an American political organization that was founded in 1920 as a result of the Nineteenth Amendment to the US Constitution which granted women the right to vote. Though non-partisan, the organization seeks to influence policy through advocacy, and is represented by local chapters in all 50 states. The Michigan State Normal College chapter was organized by the Women's League, which represented female students at the College.

Scope and Contents

The League of Women Voters collection includes materials produced by the Michigan State Normal College chapter of the national organization, including their administrative papers. The collection has been divided into one series:  Administration and History. This series includes the League's constitution, meeting minutes, and scrapbook pages which contain clippings, photographs, and other graphic materials.
