Abstract

The Graduate School Records are comprised primarily of administrative files, annual reports, awards and assistantships, publications, and faculty correspondence and forums. Materials were generated by the Graduate School. The collection is intellectually arranged in five series: ADMINISTRATIVE FILES, including correspondence and agreements, goals and strategic planning, policies and procedures, program guidelines, and reports and evaluation; ANNUAL REPORTS; AWARDS and ASSISTANTSHIPS including celebration of excellence, graduate assistantships, graduate school awards, research assistants award guideline; PUBLICATIONS including bulletins, flyers and pamphlets, Grad Grams, handbooks and manuals, newsletters and the resource directory, and FACULTY. Although, the records are comprehensive, they are not a complete record of the activities of the Graduate School.

Administrative

The Graduate School provides leadership, oversight, and service for all graduate programs at the University. These programs include certificate and degree programs at the master's, master of fine arts, specialist, and doctoral levels. The Graduate School manages the Doctoral Fellow, Graduate Assistant, Work-Study and Graduate School GA programs, the King-Chavez-Parks Future Faculty Fellows Program, and the award process for most General Fund and endowed scholarships and fellowships. It interprets and monitors Graduate School procedures and policies as recommended by the Graduate Council and established by the Dean of the Graduate School. It develops programs of academic and professional interest to faculty and students, including orientations, workshops, seminars, guest speakers, and an annual Graduate Research Fair. The Graduate School manages internal funding programs for the support of student research and creative projects.
