The Graduate Council supports graduate education at Eastern Michigan University through its recommendations and service to the Dean of the Graduate School and its advocacy for quality graduate programs. Its members provide leadership in programs, departments, and colleges in advancing the interests of graduate education.

Scope and Contents note

The collection of Graduate Council records contains meeting minutes, bylaws, and polices, guidelines, and regulations. Records span from 1939 until 2009. The collection is arranged into two series:  Administrative Files and  Meeting Minutes.

The Administrative Files series consists of bylaws, correspondence, general files, guidelines, policies and regulations, membership, and memorandums. The  Meeting Minutes series span from 1939 until 2009 and includes Academic Development Committee minutes from 1985 until 2002.
