Administrative History
The Eastern Michigan University Forensices Team was established as the Varsity Debaters-Speech Union in 1963, although students had previously participated in speech and debate competitions. They were closely associated with the Speech Department and Pi Kappa Delta, an honorary speech society. Since the founding, the Forensics Team has competed locally and nationally, accruing many awards and honors.
Scope and Contents
The Forensics Team records contain materials pertaining to the Eastern Michigan University student organization. The Forensics Team was established in 1963, and since its founding the team has competed nationally and locally, accrusing many awards and honors.
The Forensics Team records have been divided into a series of Awards and Trophies; there are additional materials including clippings, correspondence, news releases, programs and brochures, photographs, and student organization forms.
