Abstract
The Department of Business and Technology Education was a division of the Eastern Michigan University College of Technology. Previously, it had been called the Department of Business and Industrial Education. Currently, the department is not a part of the College of Technology, although business and technology/industrial education are still part of the College of Technology curriculum.

Administrative History

The Department of Business and Technology Education was a division of the College of Technology at Eastern Michigan University. The College was founded in 1980, and at its founding the Department was known as the Department of Business and Industrial Education. The Department offered both undergraduate and graduate degrees in such fields as Technology Education, Business Education, Industrial-Vocational Education, and Legal Assistantship. The Department no longer exists, although its curriculum is still part of the College of Technology curriculum.

Scope and Contents

The Department of Business and Technology Education records are comprised of the administrative records of the Department, a division of the Eastern Michigan University College of Technology. The records are dated from 1986 through 20120, with the bulk from 2000 through 2009.

The Department of Business and Technology Education records include one series: Legal Assistant Program; this series includes reports submitted to the American Bar Association. Additionally, the records include clippings, press releases, program descriptions, and a newsletter.
