Abstract
The College of Technology records is comprised primarily of administrative files and publications generated by the College of Technology, established in 1980, at Eastern Michigan University. The collection is intellectually arranged into two series: ADMINISTRATIVE FILES, includes administrative correspondence, annual reviews, guiding principles, facilities plan, faculty handbooks, planning studies, and program proposals; PUBLICATIONS, includes clippings, news releases, newsletters including  Communique and  TechInnovations, and pamphlets. Although the collection documents the College from 1980-2012, it is not a comprehensive record of the activities of the College of Technology.

Administrative history

The College of Technology (COT) at Eastern Michigan University was established by the board of regents in 1980, and was the last of the six schools implemented by the University. The COT houses 4 different schools, the School of Technology Studies; School of Engineering Technology; Military Science; Careers and Institutes, as well as many other programs such as Aviation, Paralegal Studies, Polymers and coatings, and ROTC.
