- Dr. Clara Elizabeth Warren was a professor in the Department of History at Michigan State Normal College. Her papers include materials related to the scholarship fund in her honor, her manuscripts and writing, memorandum, and academic attire.

Biographical Note
Dr. Clara Elizabeth Warren was a professor in the Department of History at Michigan State Normal College from 1938 to her retirement in 1970. She was born in La Moure, North Dakota on 3 August 1904 to Edward M. and Effie L. Warren. She graduated from La Moure High School and Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. She received her Masters and Ph.D. from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
Miss Warren served as the president of the City Federation of Women's Clubs from 1943 to 1945, the Ypsilanti Business and Professional Women's Club in 1941, and the Ypsilanti Historical Society in 1975. She was a founder and on the first board of directors of the League of Women Voters in Ypsilanti.
Scope and Contents
Dr. Clara Elizabeth Warren was a professor in the Department of History at Michigan State Normal College from 1938 through her retirement in 1970. Her papers include a series of Writing and Publishing, which is composed of manuscripts, outlines, teaching materials, published articles, and notes; there is another series of Academic Attire, which includes a graduation cap, hood, and gown. The collection also includes clippings, department memorandum, memorial materials, and two books owned by Warren.
